CREATING A GOOD INTERIOR DESIGN FLOW

To give your home a brand new look you do not need to spend a fortune on new furniture instead you can refresh the entire space by making a few key adjustments. Of course this advice is especially useful if you are trying to sell your home in a competitive housing market such as the Toronto Real Estate market, and are in need of staging ideas.

The first thing that you want to do is clear the entryways. Starting right from your front door you want to make sure that your home is as neat as possible. This creates serenity form the moment you walk into your home. You will feel relaxed in a home that has been de-cluttered, and one that radiates of cleanliness. Next you should look at some of the furniture pieces you have; to give the room a dash of energy paint one of the walls the same color as the couch, sofa, or table, in doing so you will create an illusion of a more open space. You can also add other pops of color by painting the picture frames the same color as one of the furniture pieces or even by adding flowers that contain the same colors. To create more order in your home, add a few rugs. The bigger the rug the bigger the impact it will have in terms of giving framework to the space that the rug is in. Rugs section off various parts of the home, and naturally create boundaries. Furthermore, the patterns and color of the rug have the power to influence the room’s overall color palette. Every room in the house should have a focal point; this gives structure to a room. It is up to you to choose the `element that you want to stand out. Typical focal points include fireplaces and TVs. The trick here is to choose just one, to allow the eyes to settle as opposed to wonder off in all directions. The focal point creates a better flow, since the furniture and seating area can be arranged around this point; this will make your decorating a much easier task. Lastly do not forget to add mirrors. Mirrors are the best way to create a bigger feel to a room, as they reflect light which gives the illusion of depth but also your space is a lot brighter which makes the room appear a lot larger than it really is. For bigger wall spaces, you cannot go wrong by picking a gallery mirror whereas for smaller walls, a round mirror will do just fine.

Now that you know the key elements to touch up, refreshing your home for yourself or for the purpose of staging will not break your wallet.
